I finished my visit the islands of Santa Maria, Graciosa, São Jorge, Flores and Corvo. Return to Lisbon from São Miguel miss these lands and these people. I was in so-called "Islands of Cohesion." In its various aspects (territorial, social,generational) cohesion is a value to which I have called the attention of my fellow citizens, one of the main assets that Portugal has. For desenhemosmany strategies to achieve cohesion, nothing will be achieved not put thehuman person at the center of public policies. In each island of the archipelagothere must be human capital, made up of experienced men and women but also young and dynamic entrepreneurs. It is of the future. It was in his name, on behalf of the commitment assumed before the Azores, which I went to this archipelago, as agent for cohesion between the islands and its municipalitiesand the regional powers who have accompanied me along this unforgettable visit. I hope that the presence of the President to help design the "Islands ofcohesion ': their centers of high technology, its landscapes of indescribablebeauty, but, above all, the hopes and aspirations of these populations whichrepresent fiber and toughness an example for all Portuguese.
